It's been quite a year. We lost our good friend and bandmate Scott Mettey this summer. Things haven't felt the same since. Scott first started playing with us when he was in highschool! We have been so blessed to have had the privilage to play with some amazing musicians over the years, it seems like too many are taken from us too soon. We pray that Scott is up in that big seisiún in the sky, hopefully playing some tunes with Darren Maloney.
The Ruffianstag:theruffians.com,2005:Post/69114432022-03-02T10:43:07-05:002023-10-16T10:45:07-04:00Tis the season for Irish music!
Hello friends, how we have missed you over the last two years!!!! We were able to catch up with some of you this past fall during a short stint of gigs before the Delta wave took hold, but we are anxious to see the rest of your beautiful faces this St. Patrick's Day season! We have two years of St. Patrick's Day energy all pent up and ready to boil over, so get ready, we have a great line up of shows coming your way! See you soon!
The Ruffianstag:theruffians.com,2005:Post/62526472020-03-17T17:12:44-04:002023-12-10T13:44:38-05:00Happy Saint Patrick's Day
WOW! Hello all you beautiful people. The Ruffians wish we were out there singing, and celebrating with you all today. Instead, we are "socially distancing" ourselves and "sheltering in place." How many of you were banging on the confessional door this past week. I know I was. In these uncertain and frightening times we reflect on the blessings we have, how fortunate we have been, and how quickly that can all be lost. All of our gigs are cancelled this month, our bread and butter for the year, and for the foreseeable future. There are many people who will soon find themselves in very dificult situations financially, musicians being some of them. If you are blessed with a steady paycheck and value music, especially original music that celebrates our Irish heritage, this would be a great time to buy an album. Think of all the money you are saving on Guinness at the pub this month, and head over to our music page and buy an album or two. Already have them all? Buy one for a friend, or your grandma, whatever. Say an extra prayer to Saint Patrick tonight, we are going to need all the help we can get. May God keep you all safe (but for heaven's sake wash your hands!!!) so that we may see you all again soon and raise a glass to our health! Slantie!
The Ruffianstag:theruffians.com,2005:Post/46276452017-03-13T11:03:10-04:002023-12-10T14:01:57-05:00Fantastic week of Shows! It was so great seeing everyone last Wednesday at the South gate for our 19th year. He's singing most of the Ruffians' songs you all know and love, a bunch of Irish favorites, a handful of covers, and some original ballads that you don't get to hear with the Ruffians. He played in Virginia last weekend and is hitting Maryland this weekend starting tomorrow evening at the Blackthorn Irish Pub in beautiful St. Michael's, MD, and then swinging over to Bushwaller's in Frederick on Sunday from 9-12. It's not too late for a weekend getaway! St. Michael's is a perfect place for a last minute weekend vacation! Get in the car and we'll meet you there! The Ruffianstag:theruffians.com,2005:Post/40733542016-03-04T16:05:33-05:002016-03-04T16:06:25-05:00Happy March!Happy St. Patrick's Month! Playing down the parade route in Kingston was about the most fun we've had in a while...until later that night! The Pints were flowing and the music was rocking. Thanks to The T-McCann Band, and Macana for helping us raise $1000 for the Irish cultural center!

Tonight we are playing one of the best Irish pubs in NY, Southgate Tavern in West Point! Show starts early tonight 8pm. Look forward to playing Rutgers University tomorrow.
